Chinese New Year occurs on a different date each year as it follows the Lunar Calendar.
Use this printable reader to discuss the Chinese Zodiac
. The book features one page for each animal in the zodiac. The content of the each page describes the animal characteristics according to the Chinese Zodiac. (e.g. Sheep are happy when others are with them. They are artistic and creative.) There is also a list of dates included for each animal referencing the year of the animal. The book is perfect for whole group, guided reading, or independent reading!
The last page of the book includes three questions for students to answer:
1. What year were you born?
2. What is your Chinese Zodiac animal?
3. Do You think you are like your animal? Why?
The book does NOT include background information on the Chinese New Year or the history of the Zodiac. The content only describes characteristics of the animals.
The reader has a cover page and twelve subsequent content pages with an additional question page.
You also have the choice to print this book in color or in black and white. I suggest using the black and white version for your students.
