This set of clipart images is based on photographs of an artifact I bought in Xi’an, China. Each animal is made from cloth and embroidered with colored string. The 12 animals are, in order: rat, ox, tiger, rabbit, dragon, snake, horse, sheep, monkey, rooster, dog, and pig. A mini-poster of all 12 animals of the Chinese zodiac is included so you can easily identify the animals. You can see larger images of every animal in the Preview.
Your students can use them in writing assignments about China or projects they create about China. You can use them in classroom projects and activities or as a bulletin board display about China, Chinese New Year, or the Chinese zodiac. The photos are great for Chinese New Year or whenever you are teaching about Chinese history and culture.
FYI: Many countries in Asia celebrate the Lunar New Year and have different names for the holiday. This resource calls it "Chinese New Year" because I worked in China for 3 1/2 years and celebrated the holiday there. Since this resource is based on something purchased in China, it made sense to me to refer to the holiday as "Chinese New Year."
