This is a new unit for Chinua Achebe's Things Fall Apart that is different from the other product listed as AP English: Things Fall Apart. Whereas the original unit is geared more towards an AP level class with Socratic Seminar discussions, this new unit is perfect for 9th and 10th graders. (I just finished teaching it!). Included are a series of worksheets and activities that engage the students with the novel and its themes. It draws upon parent input as well. Moreover, I have included the vocabulary lists and the grammar units I teach with this unit. Broken down into two 6-day mini units, the grammar tackles coordination/commas, pronouns, and subject-verb agreement. Included are practice and real quizzes for the grammar and vocab. There is NO quiz/test for Things Fall Apart. Instead, students respond in a writing -- all the steps are here: graphic organizer, editing sheets, rubrics, and student example essays. You will love this!
It is ALL original work (except for a few pictures I included on the Introduction PowerPoint and Bulletin Board images).
I can send you the answer keys to the quizzes. Just ask!
