This spring themed cause and effect activity includes 50 corresponding cause and effect cards (100 cards total), tic tac toe boards, "ZOINK" cards, "Ask the Expert" flags, blank student worksheet (for matching game in centers or SCOOT game), answer key, and blank card template. This activity can be used in a variety of ways. .
*Use as Tic Tac Toe game in pairs.
*As a center activity, student could find the cause and matching effect cards and write the complete sentence on answer sheet (included).
*As an I HAVE, WHO HAS” activity
*As an interactive bulletin board where you place the heading cause and effect on the board and students pick a card out of the pocket/cup and place it under the correct heading.
*As a challenge, you could also use just the causes or just the effects in a center or give each student several cards and have students write a logical cause or effect for their cards.
*As enrichment, you could give students cause cards and have them write a sentence turning the cause into an effect or you could have the students give multiple possible effects or multiple possible causes for their cause or effect cards.
*You could also place the matching activity, and the challenge and enrichment activities in centers for differentiation to match student skill level.
*Can be used as a form of assessment for skill mastery.
For tic tac toe, you will need to print or copy the game board, cause and effect cards,and "ZOINK" cards, cut them apart and laminate them. **Students will need dry erase markers and tissue or wipe to use as an eraser for the tic tac toe game.**
You can use the cards as one large set or divide them up evenly to make several sets to be used at different times or so all pairs don’t have the same set of cards.
