Description

Reading is a fantastic way to build student proficiency in French! Give your students valuable interpretive practice with this reading activity that focuses on French food and cooking.

In this task, students will read five short passages from various posts on the French food blog Chocolate & Zucchini. After reading each passage, students will practice important interpretive skills, such as recognizing key words, making inferences, and identifying main ideas. The questions have been based on ACTFL guidelines and standards for interpretive reading.

This task has been designed for Novice-High to Intermediate-Low learners, but you can alter the task to fit the needs of your students.

You can use the task as interpretive practice, a formative assessment, or an end-of-unit summative assessment. Feel free to get creative and use this task in any way that fits your needs!
