Hi! My name is Kate Bailey, and my store is called "Get EnglishEd." (Get it? :))
The following product is one of my most recent (and most favorite!) assignments I have given in my classroom. My students just finished a study of the novel __Night__ by Elie Wiesel, and I needed a way to assess what they had gleaned from their study. I work in a school that offers voice and choice in nearly all assessments, so I wanted to create a "choice board" or "choice menu" for students. This product allows students to be super creative, use their "multiple intelligences," and show you what they're made of!
The product offers 9 different projects for students to choose from to show their understanding of the novel __Night__ as well as the historical context of the time. You could easily use the product as is, or you could take away a couple of options and just use 3 or 6! The assignments work well for 9-12 grade, regular and honors/Gifted students, and can be altered to most any novel! It also includes a basic scoring guide that (again) you can leave as is or you can build off of.
I would recommend giving students a week or so to work on this product IN CLASS to avoid plagiarism, give participation/process grades, and help them as needed.
