Our needs drive all of our behavior. Whether we are conscious of it or not, we see everything that we do before we do it. We, also, have a repertoire of pictures of ourselves, the world, and our relationship to and interaction with the world. When a need arises, it triggers pictures our creative system. Our creative system pulls pictures from our vast library of pictures that relate to the rising need. We, then, select one of these pictures and implement it to meet the need. Some behaviors meet needs to some degree of effectiveness. Some behaviors fail to meet need and may actually intensify them. Some behaviors mask needs, leading us to a false sense of satisfaction. To change ineffective behaviors and to develop effective ones, we must change our pictures.
