Are you looking for a fun & engaging way to help your students with digraphs?
Several years ago, I made up a little story that I used with my kindergartners that I was working with. They loved it and I have used it ever since. This year I decided to turn it into a booklet and activity pack to make it even more engaging. My kids love it!
Digraph conductor train story which the students will learn from memorization once they have repeated it over and over.
Then, teach the hand motions to go along with the book. Use the hand motions to repeat the story over and over. I even use the hand motions and have my students shout out the correct digraph to match it.
Students will use digraph picture cards to match to the correct page in the booklet as they practice saying the sounds.
Students will then be able to identify the sounds that each digraph makes using the letter cards only.
My students love this little story & they will tell you the story over and over, as well as tell it to their friends.
