PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

Actors are responsible for choosing their own monologues and this is a guide and checklist to make sure students are choosing pieces with strong objectives that are age/type appropriate.

The second page is a 12 beat structure for teaching actors to audition professionally. The 12 beat process should be rehearsed as much as the monologue(s). Teaching the process of "how to audition" often takes an entire class period and each student should be allowed to practice the 12 beats until they feel comfortable. I ask my students to run through the beats every time they present their monologues in class to create muscle memory.

I have also included a scene study and score worksheet for monologues and rehearsal prompts.
