This set of task cards is useful in reviewing choosing whether the best operation is multiplication or division. In this set, you will find 24 task cards. Each task card has a partner card with a very similarly worded problem. One problem is best solved using multiplication, and the other is best solved using division.
I have also provided a “Multiplication” and “Division” heading to allow students to sort these on their desk independently or as a group.
There are a couple of ways your students can check their work.
Print the first set of task cards. The answers will appear on the back of the task card. The “M” means multiplication, and the “D’ means division.
Print the second set of task cards. Students can use a QR code reader and scan the QR code.
The main focus of these cards are not for students to solve the problems. While you may find that the students who move faster would benefit from this extension, the main focus is that students think about the problem on more than a surface level.
Please Note: I have purposefully left out “clue words”. Instead, students must visualize the information to arrive at the correct operation. If you are looking to review “clue words” this resource will not provide the needed review.
