Students practice using the chord-chord theorem to find missing segment lengths in a circle in this matching activity to use in a variety of ways. The set includes 18 pairs of matching cards (18 problems of all types)—one side with diagram of segments, the other side a value of x that solves for the measure. Cut apart and use for a single student or pair of students.
Students will need to write an equation from these expressions to solve for the value of x that gives the correct measure and then plug in that value to find the length requested. Set also includes 12 cards that do not match--6 with a diagram and 6 with a measure. The 12 cards that do not match are used as distractors. You can use these additional cards with those students who need an extra challenge. You can use as many or as few of the non-matching cards with the other cards for those students who always finish early. If you have students who struggle, or always need some additional time, just give fewer matching cards or include those students with a pair of students. .
