Chorus Solfege Warm Ups is a high energy power point designed to simply the beginning flow of your every day chorus class rehearsal. Useful in early elementary grades through middle school, this resource provides visuals to teaching methods I employ throughout my music curriculum. Systematic planned instruction and assessment allows students to progress easily with lots of success. Students are attracted to the bright visuals and maintain focus easily. This is more than a warm up routine; it is also a visual introduction to basic music theory concepts including aural skills, intervals, reading intervals on the staff, and composing with harmony. The main emphasis is on developing the listening and singing connection. There is a connection with Kodaly methodology as I use Kodaly hand signs as I teach these solfege patterns.
Detailed Slide Notes are included, be sure to read for lots of lesson extension ideas. This 100 page power point will be enough to provide your students with solid base in aural skills for a semester, using only a few minutes a day. I begin every class I teach with this-it is part of our daily routine.
