Description

This Christmas Adapted Book, "Santa Brought a Sweater," is packed full of hands-on learning!

This book focuses on the Wh- Questions, "Which" and "Who?," making inferences, the concept of wants/needs, and even incorporates some Christmas social skills (saying Thank You!)

In a small group the teacher or therapist reads the story as students follow along and make inferences using the clues provided. Students will match a sweater, and the person who received it to each page.

Sample Text:

"I wanted something better. But Santa brought a sweater.
I think you're gonna love it, Santa wrote me in a letter....

It has red sleeves, green stripes, and something you can ring...
Which sweater is it?
Who got the sweater?"

Students working independently can work through the book in a literacy center or independent workstation. After students complete the book, students can complete the wants/needs activity by sorting the objects into the proper "present."

If your students enjoy adapted books, there are many more in my collection. Please see my Adapted Books Collection below.
