This Christmas category sorting game is perfect for Christmas themed activities in your speech and language therapy or ELA sessions.
1 x Instructions page
4 x pages of category cards - 32 cards in total. 8 cards for each category.
1 x page of playing cards – miss a turn, move back etc.
2 x pages of sorting mats - 4 present style mats- one for each category.
1 x game board – ‘Santa’s Workshop’.
The aim of the game is for players to sort the cards into the correct category.
Players take it in turns to move around the ‘Santa’s Workshop’ game board.
Players pick up a card from the deck, when directed on the board.
If players pick up a list card, they read the list of items on the card, then decide which category the items belong to. They then place the card onto the correct present sorting mat. If players pick up a playing card, they must follow the instruction on the card.
The winner is the person to reach the end of the game board first.
As an extension, players can name other items they can think of from the categories.
