Your learners will map CVC words on these cute Christmas printables by:

  1. Saying the picture name.
  2. Tapping the three sounds.
  3. Writing the letter that spells each sound.
  4. Reading the word.

Then your students will:

  1. Read those same CVC words,
  2. Match them to the correct picture, and
  3. Color according to the code.

Isolate and pronounce the initial, medial vowel, and final sounds (phonemes) in three-phoneme (consonant-vowel-consonant, or CVC) words. (This does not include CVCs ending with /l/, /r/, or /x/.)
Know and apply grade-level phonics and word analysis skills in decoding words.
Demonstrate basic knowledge of one-to-one letter-sound correspondences by producing the primary sound or many of the most frequent sounds for each consonant.
Associate the long and short sounds with common spellings (graphemes) for the five major vowels.
