Students will be able to gain information from a text to compare three cultures traditions and customs of Christmas. They will be able to express this verbally as well as written. This unit of close reading study will prepare students for vocabulary in Spanish that surrounds the traditions of the three countries. Language acquisition for Spanish is not addressed in this unit, this is only focusing on reading about the culture before language acquisition. This fully aligns with a unit for New York State for the Common Core Learning Standards.
Includes all materials used/given to students. All text based questions include student possible answers as well as a student exemplar response to the summative assessment.
