This packet “Christmas Counting: Counting Objects to 15” was created with Kindergarten students in mind; the lower-level counting activity would even be suited for Pre-K children as well. There are 3 different levels of counting sheets included. These will work well to differentiate the activity for the students in your class.
Packet covers many counting & cardinality standards: writing numerals, understanding the relationship between numbers and quantities, and counting to answer how many.
It was designed to be an independent math station but you can use it as you see fit for the needs of your students!
I like to encourage my students to “mark and count” the objects with a dry erase marker and then write the total on the recording sheet. This helps them to keep track of the objects. The answer key provided helps student self-assess their work during stations.
I have included 3 differentiated counting sheets within this packet; the sheets have the same general concept but at different levels. Each sheet (A, B, C) includes a page with a variety of Christmas pictures to use for counting, a recording sheet for students to write the total and fill in the ten frames for each object, and an answer key. (Level A: Numbers to 8, Level B: Numbers to 12, Level C: Numbers to 15).
