This download is so sweet - it's literally confection perfection! The set allows for practice of numbers up to twenty! The theme is Cookies for Santa. Here's why this download rocks the house: (There are THREE activities included!)
*MATH CENTER: I recommend laminating these pieces. Included are 20 cookie plate mats and three different types of Christmas cookies for you to cut out. (However, you can also have your students use playdough to form the cookies! Or pom poms, mini erasers, truly anything.) Each mat has a number (1-20). Students will TRACE the number on the mat (twice). Then, put that number of cookies on the plate for Santa! This is awesome! They get practice with number formation as well as counting! Plus, the center itself is absolutely ADORABLE!!
*MATH GAME: This is a two person game. I recommend laminating these pieces. Included are 2 Cookie Race game boards. Again, you can use the cookies I provided or any other type of counter you wish. Students will need to use dice - (as many as you wish up to the number you wish to practice.) Each player gets a Cookie Race plate. The cookies go in a pile in the center. Players take turn rolling the dice. They count how many they rolled, then take that number of cookies from the pile and put them on their plate. The game is over when all the cookies are gone. The winner is the player with the most cookies! This is awesome practice with counting as well as one-to-one correspondence.
*COUNTING ON WORKSHEET: No need to laminate - this is a black and white worksheet meant to provide some fun and festive practice with counting, one-to-one, writing numbers, and counting on. Print these two pages double sided to maximize the amount of practice your students get. Students will roll however many dice you choose to give them. They write the number they rolled on Santa's cookie plate. Then, they use the counting on method to write the next three numbers on the blank cookies. SO fun - SO festive - and SO jam packed full of counting skills practice!
