Remember the paper chains you'd make when you were in elementary school to count down the days until Christmas? They're back, with a twist! These paper strips are numbered, with a Simply copy the templates onto green and red paper, and let the students do the rest! Students will cut out paper strips that are labeled with the number of days left until Christmas Day. Younger primary students will be challenged with the task of putting the strips in numerical order before gluing, making this a great math activity; all students will benefit from the cutting practice as well, building hand-strength and dexterity as they manipulate the paper strips into rings.
Send the chains home with students right away to use at home, or hang them in the classroom so students can count down with you each day!
This is a great activity for the day students return from Thanksgiving Break!
