Christmas Countdown Garland and Crafts
It's the most wonderful time of the year! So why not enjoy it with these simple craft options that won't break the bank or drive you crazy.
1. Christmas Countdown Garland
A Christmas Craft to countdown the days left until Christmas is here or to countdown in your classroom, the days left until Christmas vacation. You can get fancy and make a tree using the 25 rings of washi themed paper or just hang one long garland, and remove a ring each day for classroom use.
In my classroom students enjoy being chosen to take a ring off each day or sometimes more if we countdown the weekends that have passed. They can't wait to get to Christmas vacation and I'm ready for a break too. You can also have the student randomly selected to remove a ring, wear as a bracelet you can tape on.
Or use the newly added Santa themed countdown included. Just print and cover each circled number by coloring it with dark marker or use holiday stickers.
2. Gingerbread House Holiday Card (2-5 added 2019)
Students color a gingerbread house then fold it into a card. Can be given as a gift or used to invite their parents to a holiday show.
3. Decorate a Christmas Tree
Print the large tree on green card stock, and give students the ornaments they can color, cut, and glue on to their tree. You can also buy holiday stickers or sequins, at the craft store for a different look. Smaller trees included in case you what to make ornaments. Adding a school picture in the center and decorating with glitter glue around it is a fun option.
4. 3-D Christmas Tree
Cut out two templates and half-way down each one using guidelines, then slide together to make a tree that stands. Can also choose to decorate with white glitter for a snow effect or glue on small sequins.
5. Christmas Tree Snowflake Cut-Out Pattern
Template with directions included so students can fold it then cut away gray to reveal a beautiful snowflake with Christmas trees featured.
