Deck the halls with data tables! These interactive Google slides include tons of Christmas themed scenarios for students to practice creating digital data tables, interpreting data, and identifying independent and dependent variables. As a culminating activity, students get to create crystal Christmas ornaments, collect data, and make a claim about their variables! A remote teaching/home lab version is also included to help teachers who can not be with students in person. These slides helped my students solidify how to create and use data tables properly and the ornaments were always a hit with my students!

In these slides, students will:

-learn about different kinds of data and how to collect it

-summarize what data is in their own words

-learn that data tables are used to collect data in an organized way with appropriate labels

-read written data and compile it into a data table

-create digital data tables with correct labels

-learn the relationship between an independent and dependent variable

-practice creating data tables for quantitative data

-conduct an investigation about how temperature affects crystal growth

-record the data from their investigation 

-create a claim about the relationship between the temperature of the solution and crystal formation
