Product Description
"Yes,Virginia, there is a Santa Claus!" This 5 day lesson uses primary sources for instruction incorporating 5 CCSS ELA standards and social studies standards with text based short answer questions, writing prompts, HOT questions, vocabulary decoding graphic organizer, and extensions. It can be used for whole group or small group instruction. The primary source used in this lesson is from the New York Sun letter to the editor published in 1897 in response to a letter from Virginia, an eight-year-old girl, asking the editor if Santa exists. His response is the most widely published editorial in history.
