Here are two simple, yet fun math center ideas for
Christmas. Copy the five pages and provide a bag
of large marshmallows. Invite your students
to guess how many they think it will take to cover the
Christmas item. Once they have recorded their answer,
have your students cover the item on the page with
the large marshmallows to see how close they were.
The second station: Find a glass jar and decorate it with
the embellishments in the packet. Fill the jar with candy canes.
Set the jar in your Math center along with the guessing sheets.
Have the children write down their guess. The one that comes
closest to the right answer gets a candy cane.
Change daily- you can use candy kisses, peppermint candies,
or any Christmas candy.
If you are afraid of the glass jar, you can use any plastic container.
