Do you struggle with getting your students to use precise language? I have created these two fun Christmas Reindeer Games to target the use of precise language! The need to use precise language becomes very evident as they play!
Game One allows students to practice precise descriptive language skills
, while Game Two encourages students to ask appropriate questions to gain information
that will help them discover which card the SLP/teacher is holding.
★ Game one is a card game in which students try to collect the most matches or 4 card sets. To get cards they must ask their fellow players for a card that matches one in their hand. This requires the use of precise descriptive language.
★ Game two is a guessing game in which they must guess which card the SLP/teacher is holding. They must ask the SLP/Teacher a question that will help them eliminate pictures until they have a clear picture of which card is being held.
➤ Additional skills taught through playing the game are how to use the process of elimination to solve problems and negation.
➤I have included a Cue Card to assist those students who need a visual to assist them in learning how to ask specific questions.
⚠️ PLEASE NOTE: Because this is a descriptive game, color is a vital part of the process and will require color printing.
If you cannot or do not have access to color printing, then this is not the activity for you.
