Writing friendly letters for the holidays? These writing pages are part graphic organizer, part stationery. Templates provide prompts for students to fill in the parts of a friendly letter in Christmas and winter shapes. Perfect for pen pals, letters home, and other friendly letter writing assignments.
These writing papers come in eight different Christmas/winter themes (bells, snowflakes, stocking, gift, hat and mittens, ornaments, snowman, and candy), with three different formats for each theme.
The first format is fill-in-the-shape, with prompts for heading, greeting, and closing/signature each in a different shape--to help students visualize the parts of a friendly letter. This style is a fun way to provide structure for students who need it or just prefer it. Fewer lines for the body of the letter help make writing seem less intimidating.
The second format is mostly blank lines, with a picture in a coordinating theme. This page can be used as a back page for those students who run out of room after filling in the shape on the first page, or it can be used separately as stationery for students who can then write the heading, greeting, and closing independently.
The third format (the last eight pages) is the same as the first fill-in-the-shape, except no prompts are provided, only blank lines for heading, greeting, body, closing, and signature. This is perfect for students who want to personalize their own greeting or closing.
You can choose to mix and match these for your class however you want, depending on each student’s needs.
