Parent Christmas Gift Idea
: Subway Art - Picture Frame and Message Lines
Help your students say Merry Christmas
to their parents with this cute subway art picture.
With this Christmas gift, some of the work is already done. Festive 'Christmas' words have been used to create a fun piece of art work, but there is a special place left for students to write their own words or a short message to their parents (or whom ever they want to make it for). In addition, there is an illustration box (picture frame) where students can draw an image of a special holiday memory, a holiday scene, or you can have the kids bring in an image of themselves (with or without family). OR, you can take a special holiday picture to place in that spot. You can trim it to fit the frame outline and glue it down. There are oval and rectangular frames.
A few options are available. There is a black and white version where students can add all of the color, or there are several color options if you want to print some fun Christmas backgrounds. Slide 18 explains that posters are included that say summer since Christmas falls during different seasons depending on where you live.
This prints on 8.5 x 11 paper turned portrait page set up. Just pop it into a frame of your choice and VOILA....perfect inexpensive gift that will make any parent smile. Plus, they can pull it out year after year to display at Christmas time.
OR, you don't even have to buy a frame. Just laminate the finished product, punch a hole in each top corner, and run a pretty ribbon through the holes. Make a pretty bow in the center. Very Pretty!!
Just a suggestion, but take a printed copy with you when you go to shop for a frame. You can insert it into a frame right there in the store to make sure the frame doesn't cover the subway art. My Dollar Store has some great black frames!! If it doesn't fit perfectly into an 8.5x11 frame (I used an 8 x 10 frame and cut off the extra border), just remove the glass, center it over the image, trace around the glass, and then cut off the excess border of the paper.
