This is a lesson plan for upper elementary and middle schools students to create a Christmas Lights. By the end of this lesson, each student or partner group will have created a string of Christmas Lights that blink different colors. Note: This will download as a zip file which includes lesson plan and blank Christmas light image.
This lesson is best taught in 1 lesson. Perfect for the Hour of Code Week! Prior to teaching this lesson, a basic familiarity of scratch is encouraged, but not necessary. This lesson could be used to incorporate STEM or in a technology/computer lab. We used these lessons after Hour of Code week in my computer class! This program will not work with the Scratch, Jr iPad app.
The first page is an overview of the lesson including objectives, standards, and materials. The next 4 pages are detailed lesson plan including screenshots. The last page is a detailed lesson plan that could be printed front/back and used in reference during the actual teaching lesson.
