This is a pack of fun literacy-based activities to help you bring some Christmas fun and excitement into your classroom! It has a variety of reading and writing activities and printables for your classroom use.
Page 3: Christmas Gifts Page. Students compare giving and receiving gifts by illustrating and writing about something they would like to get for Christmas and something they would like to give for Christmas.
Page 4: Christmas Madlib Story. Students come up with silly nouns and verbs to fill in the blanks, creating a humorous retelling of a traditional Christmas story.
Pages 5-9: Christmas Writing Prompts. Students can follow the prompts to illustrate and write a variety of Christmas-themed stories such as “What fell out of Santa’s bag?” and “What are the elves making?”.
Pages 10-11: Christmas Word Search. Students search for common Christmas words. (Page 11 is the answer key.)
Page 12: Sounds of Christmas. Students must listen for the missing sounds in Christmas words to discover what letter goes in the empty circles.
Page 13: ABC Order Presents. Students cut out the presents and glue them back onto the page in correct ABC order.
Pages 14-15: Christmas Words. Students see how many words they can find using the letters in the words “Merry Christmas” or “Happy Holidays”. This can be a solo or partner activity.
