Keep your students engaged and learning in the lead up to Christmas. Explore number with these 12 Christmas Math Activities.

Ten Frames

  • Color copy and laminate all the cards
  • There are two sets
  • Use as flash cards to trust the count

How many presents are needed?

  • Sequence the sacks in order of number then put the number of presents in the right bag

Which sack has more presents?

  • Set One – green background is 0-20
  • Set Two – red background 0-100
  • Color copy, laminate and cut.
  • Place the signs in the correct place

Missing Elves

  • Color copy and laminate the cards
  • Place the missing elf in the correct spot

Cookies on a plate

  • Color copy and laminate the plates and cookies
  • Copy as many cookie pages as you think you will need
  • Game 1 - Roll a dice and show the number by placing cookies on the plate
  • Game 2 - Roll 2 dice and add the two collections of cookies
  • Record the equation on a small whiteboard

Skip Counting Sacks

  • Color copy and laminate the plates and cookies
  • Copy as many cookie pages as you think you will need
  • Display the A-Z cards around the room and use the recording sheet to write your answer

Roll and cover

  • Use a 6 sided dice - roll and cover
  • There are three additional sets that ask you to +1, +2and double the number rolled

Sequence Snowmen

  • Color copy and laminate
  • Each set of six snowmen belong together but need to be placed in a sequence
  • Watch out - they are sneaky snowman!

How many lights are working?

  • Work out how many lights are working?
  • Read the equations and use the lights like a number line
  • Record your answer on the answer sheet

When is Santa Coming?

  • Color copy and laminate
  • One set is o’clock
  • One set is half past
  • Spread them out and match the correct labels

Graphing

  • Count the items and graph
  • Use the colored picture to graph the data and then formulate 10 questions to get a buddy to solve

Groups of cutlery

  • Roll a dice (6 -10 -12 sided) if you roll a 3 – you need three sets of cutlery and then you need to work out that 3 x 3 = 9 pieces of cutlery
