Engage the K-1 student with adorable graphics to teach sums to 12! This packet includes 34 math worksheets, along with full-color posters and patterns for tags, and/or cards for games. “The Twelve Days of Christmas” is the fun and festive theme.
Also included are the following activities …

-Count the given objects, and add to find out how many in all.
-Write the missing letters on the given lines at the top of the page.
-Write the answer to the problem shown on the bottom of the page.
Extension Ideas: The student will cut out each card. After matching the graphic with the number (1 to 12) that it is associated with (as shown), s/he will tape or glue the two pieces together. (The graphic will be shown on one side, and the number will be shown on the flip side.)
The cards can be used for several games. Here are two suggestions:
1.) Sequence the numbers, 1 to 12.
2.) Identify and find the number on the card that represents the ordinal number: The student will show the card that represents what the gift was on the "first" day, for example. (The number 1 should be attached to the back of the picture of the partridge in the pear tree.)
The cards can also be used as gift tags. If you have a real, artificial, or paper tree, punch a hole in each “tag” and loop a piece of red or green yarn through it for displaying the tag on the tree. Going with the theme, “The Twelve Days of Christmas,” have the students count to make sure they have the correct number of each gift tag on the tree.
Teacher directions, as well as posters (for displaying) are included. The posters show only the key words of the song because that is all that is needed. However, a copy of the song in its entirety is provided.
Finally, if you would like to make a booklet, a cover for the student is also included.
