Numbers 1-20 Count, Sequence, Compose, Decompose (Christmas Printables/Centers)

Add some excitement to number sense activities this December! Help students gain fluency and mastery counting, sequencing, composing, and decomposing numbers 1-20 with my Christmas themed printables and math center activities. The math centers require minimal prep work!

Christmas Numbers Each page focuses on one number and covers numbers 1-20. Students will trace and write numbers and number words, draw, color, and complete a ten frame. These pages follow a predictable pattern, but have different Christmas themed clipart. These are great for independent practice or morning work. (20 pages)

Trace and Write Numbers to 20 Students will trace numbers to 20 on the first page and then trace and write missing numbers in ornaments on the following pages. (3 pages)

Numbers 1-20 Number Cards, Task Cards, Work Mats, and Recording Sheets Minimal Prep Centers Students will practice counting, sequencing, patterns, composing, and decomposing numbers to 20. I have included two sets of number cards, four ten frame mats, four recording sheets, and 18 task cards. You will need to provide the manipulatives (red, green, and white counting chips, snap cubes, and pom poms). These can also be used as take home activities.

Compose Numbers 3-20 Puzzle Cards There are 24 pages of puzzle cards. Each page has 3 puzzles. Puzzle cards for numbers 3-10 show all ways to compose those numbers. Puzzle cards for 11-20 show a group of ten and some more, and then the reverse.

Sight Word Printables, Centers, and Games

Sentence Scrambles Students will cut out words, rearrange them to make a sentence, glue it, copy it onto a line, and draw a picture to match. Unfamiliar words have a matching picture above them. (19 pages)

Sight Word Match Students will read words in either a Santa or gingerbread man. They will find, cut, and paste the matching word in either a present sack or gum drop. (6 pages)

Sight Word Scramble Students will unscramble and write letters to match words in the word box. (6 pages)

Reindeer Activity Cards There are 13 pages of sight word cards, shown on reindeer clipart. Each word is shown twice. These cards can be used as a memory matching game, write the room activity, partner match, and more. A set of activity directions and write the room recording sheet has been included.

Sight Word Elf Puzzles Students will read words on an elf card and assemble puzzle cards with letters, to spell each word. An optional recording sheet has been included. (19 pages)

Sight Word File Folder Games Three file folder games have been included, along with 6 spinners and 12 game pieces. Students will count spaces, read words, and race to the finish! Each game can be played with up to 4 players.

Color, Count, Cut, Paste, and Trace Christmas Edition
Kindergarten students need many opportunities to work with numbers in order to develop confidence and gain number sense. They also need to time to develop basic skills, such as coloring, cutting, gluing, and tracing. My "Color, Count, Cut, Paste, and Trace" Counting 1-20: Christmas Edition combines all of these skills into one! Students will color Christmas themed pictures, count them, cut, paste, and trace numbers to match each group. Each group of pictures is arranged in different configurations and sizes. This packet begins with several pages of mixed practice for numbers 1-10, and then follows a predictable pattern of practicing two or three different numbers, for 11-20. I have also included several pages of mixed practice at the end of the packet. This can be used for whole group, small group, centers, independent practice, and morning work. While I designed this for kindergarten students, it can also be used for 1st graders for review or extra practice.

"Where is Santa?" Reinforce sight words, practice sequencing, and write a prediction with this fun and engaging emergent reader! My "Where is Santa?" mini book practices the sight words the, is, in, at, by, my. The story ends with a question, asking readers where Santa will go next. I have included two levels of writing practice. For beginning writers, a traceable sentence starter is included. Students will draw a picture showing where Santa will go next and complete the sentence. More advanced writers will write a complete sentence to match their picture. Also included is a sequencing page. Students will cut, order, and paste, all the places Santa went in the story.

Counting Gifts Reinforce sight words, counting to 10, and practice writing numbers to 10 with this fun and engaging emergent reader! My "Counting Gifts" mini book features predictable text and practices the sight words I, see, under, the. Students will count the gifts on each page and write the number on the blank line.

Students will think back to the text, pick his/her favorite shape, trace the beginning of the sentence, complete the sentence with a shape word, and draw a matching picture.

Christmas Parade Reinforce sight words, practice sequencing, and write an opinion with this fun and engaging emergent reader! My "Christmas Parade" mini book has two versions. The beginner version follow a predictable text pattern of "Here comes a float! I see a ..." The more advanced version has the same beginning sentence "Here comes a float!", followed by variable text practicing the sight words I, can, see, the, look, at, in, his, big, little, his, do, you, has. I have included two levels of writing practice. For beginning writers, a traceable sentence starter is included. Students will draw a picture showing his/her favorite float and complete the sentence. More advanced writers will write a complete sentence to match their picture. Also included is a sequencing page. Students will cut, order, and paste, all the people and things they saw on the parade floats.

This Little Reindeer Gets Ready For Christmas Reinforce sight words, practice sequencing, and write a prediction with this fun and engaging emergent reader! My "This Little Reindeer Gets Ready For Christmas" mini book practices the sight words this, little, will, a, the. The story ends with a question, asking readers what the reindeer will do next to get ready for Christmas. I have included two levels of writing practice. For beginning writers, a traceable sentence starter is included. Students will draw a picture showing what the reindeer will do next and complete the sentence. More advanced writers will write a complete sentence to match their picture. Also included is a sequencing page. Students will cut, order, and paste, all the things the reindeer did in the story to get ready for Christmas.
