These are great activities for students in K-2 & RTI to play with a partner or individual. They are also great to use as a formative assessment tool.
First Game: Each student will need counters in two different colors.
Look at the number that’s on the Gift Tag. Have
Child make different combinations for that number.
Example: #7 on Gift Tag
Child places 4 yellow counters and 3 red counters on the snowflakes. Then have child record their number combinations on the record sheet.
Card Game: Student chooses a card, hold it up and his partner has to supply the missing number.
*Student can write the missing number or math sentence on white board.
*Student can draw a picture to illustrate the math sentence (2 squares + 3 squares=5)
*Student can choose a card and show math sentence using manipulatives.
*Student/teacher can use the numbers to create story problem.
