★Christmas Math Project:
★3rd - 5th Grade Christmas Math Project using Time and Money
★This collaborative project will engage the learner as the Christmas season draws near. Students will “Shop Till They Drop” as they find problem solving solutions using time and money.
★Working with partners, students are challenged to fill their day with a multitude of holiday errands and chores. They have five gifts to shop for while staying within a $100 budget and a 24 hour timeline. Excitement will fill the air, as students determine the solution to real-life problems involving addition and subtraction of time intervals and units of money.
★Please check the preview as a guide for use with your grade level. While third grade standards contain addition and subtraction of time intervals and units of money, some classes may teach it later in the year. I have included a version with and without decimals to increase or decrease the rigor and offered tools to support the learners who need more concrete scaffolding.
