This is a Christmas-themed personal finance project useful for students in a business class or any other subject area where simple math skills or real-life budgeting examples are needed. Students will learn how to manage and plan their finances, establish and follow a budget, as well as gain personal financial management skills. You can find a non-holiday version of a monthly budget project HERE
This project provides students with some insight into the costs associated with the Christmas season while learning how to manage their money appropriately. A teacher instruction page

This lesson set reinforces practical money skills and teaches the budgeting process in a fun and engaging way. Students will learn the differences between "need" and "want" items, including the importance of volunteering their time and giving back to their local community.
The activities can easily be differentiated to suit the various learners in your classroom. They can be completed: independently, with a partner, in small groups or even as a whole-class activity. There is a lot of flexibility in regards to the length of the project and the different types of activities that can be completed with a class.
