Description

In the lead up to Christmas, your students are tired and overexcited and you're looking for some quick and easy math center ideas. These Christmas Math activities which are roll and color (comes with UK & US Spellings) will keep your students busy and on task while they master their math skills.

This pack focuses on addition and subtraction using the count on and count back strategies, with and without number lines up to 20. The pack is differentiated for your learners with some easy and harder activities.

Contains:

  • 5 x roll and color sheets (learning to count arrays on a dice)
  • 5 x roll, color and addition with number lines (adding on a number line using the 'count on' strategy)
  • 5 x roll, color and subtract with number lines (subtracting on a number line using the 'countback' strategy)
  • 5 x roll, color and add/subtract race games (counting on and counting back in a game).

Directly applies to the following Australian curriculum strands (ACARA): Foundation and Year 1 Maths.

- Identifying the number words in sequence, backwards and forwards, and reasoning with the number sequences, establishing the language on which subsequent counting experiences can be built.

- Compare, order and make correspondences between collections, initially to 20, and explain reasoning.

- Represent practical situations to model addition and sharing.

- Sort and classify familiar objects and explain the basis for these classifications.
