Everybody loves a round of "I Have ... Who Has?"!
This version is perfect for the month of December and can be used as multiplication fact and word problem practice or review during Morning Meeting, math time, or a HOLIDAY PARTY!
The "I Have ... Who Has?" activity includes cards like, “Nina’s gingerbread house has 12 rows of 5 gumdrops on its roof. How many gumdrops are there?” and “Santa was stuck 3 times in the past 3 chimneys he slid down. How many times was he stuck in all?” There are a total of 28 cards. Teacher directions are included. Enjoy!
Depending on your students’ level of expertise with multiplication facts, you might stop after every card is read and determine the matching number sentence.
For example, a child reads, “Each of the 8 families on Winter Street left out 3 cookies for St. Nick. How many cookies were left out?” so the class determines the appropriate number sentence is “8x3”. At this point, all students may use a strategy or a multiplication chart to find the correct product together.
