Christmas Music Centers

This Christmas-themed centers set includes:

*Four centers, including:

--Center 1: Color by instrument family worksheets: Students categorize instruments into instrument families as they color, to reveal a Christmas-themed picture! A key is also included.

--Center 2: Mystery image: In this fun center, students use Chromebooks, iPads, or the teacher computer to reveal a mystery image. Using Google Sheets, students either figure out how many sounds or beats are in a rhythm or rhythm pattern, to reveal mystery images; view the video preview for more details. Six versions are included: ta and ti-ti (quarter and eighth notes), quarter rest (or ta rest), tika-tika (sixteenth notes), half note, ti-tika (1 eighth/ 2 sixteenth), and tika-ti (2 sixteenth/ 1 eighth.) --Center 3: Melodic poke cards: Students figure out the answer to a melodic question and "poke" the answer, then check their answers on the back! Seven versions are included: sol-mi, la, do, re, low la, low sol, and high do, as well as keys for each.

--Center 4: Composing cards: Students use Christmas and Hanukkah-themed cards to compose rhythm patterns. Four versions are included: ta and ti-ti (eighth notes), quarter rest, tika-tika (sixteenth notes), and tika-ti (2 sixteenths/ 1 eighth.) Stick notation and standard notation are both included.

If you're further along in the sequence than a center allows (for example, your students already know syncopa), then you can use these centers to spiral back to prior knowledge and improve their understanding!
