A 6 page, 5 part readers' theater script of The Elves and the Shoemaker, but with a Christmas theme. Two of Santa's elves have finished all their work early, so they leave the North Pole and head south. They stop for dinner in a town and decide the help out the shoemaker and his wife.
The script is written with primary students in mind and has parts suitable for Emergent Readers and Transitional readers as follows:
o Emergent (roughly DRA 4-8): Elf 2
o Transitional (roughly DRA 10-12): Elf 1
o High Transitional (roughly DRA 14-18): Shoemaker, shoemaker’s wife, narrator
Also includes full page, color images of each character which students can use to make hats or neck signs to identify their part to the audience.
