This is a fun activity to incorporate reading comprehension into the holiday season!
Students will read a fiction text about Christmas Caroling (with embedded nonfiction text about it's history) and answer 21 multiple choice questions. They use a clue key to get a word for each answer they choose. They take those words and unscramble them to make the titles of popular Christmas songs.
In the main idea and supporting details section.
For 1 they should get B, and when they look at the clue key B=the.
For 2 they should get A, and when they look at the clue key A=snowman.
For 3 they should get D, and when they look at the clue key D=Frosty
They then should unscramble those words (the, snowman, and frosty) to get the song title Frosty the snowman.
