Each of the reading passages includes a variety of common text features such as titles, subtitles, headings, pictures, captions, maps, footnotes, and more - and each one comes with a page of comprehension questions that go beyond identifying text features. Students will analyze why authors use subtitles, bold text, and footnotes; they will use headings to identify the main idea of different sections; and they will understand the importance of information in captions and graphs.
