Looking for a fun way to practice ta and ti-ti (quarter and eighth notes) while celebrating Christmas in the music room? This fun set includes centers and a way for students to compete to get to the North Pole first! Students complete each center in any order they want; the first one done wins! (Note: These centers could also be used without the competition aspect.)
The set includes:
*Christmas Tree Corner: At this center, students have to throw a squishy ball at the SMART board (or, if you don't have a SMART board, they can choose a tree from the computer) then read the pattern. After three patterns, they color the tree on the road map and go to another center.
*Elves' Workshop: At this center, students make a four beat pattern with any of these words: toys, iPad, laptop, football, sweater, or gifts. Then, students line up the correct rhythm underneath their pattern, and read their pattern to a friend, first with words, then with rhythm syllables. Afterwards, they color the elf on their road map and go to another center.
*Reindeer Road: At this center, students draw three cards, then copy those patterns onto their Reindeer Road worksheet. Afterwards, they color the reindeer on their road map and go to another center.
*Snowy Street: At this center, students choose four cards to create a 16-beat composition. Then, they choose letters that match the form. After they read their composition to their friend, they color the snowflake on their road map and go to another center.
