Grandma Cherri introduces a new rhythm video!
Students follow notes and pictures in this video to perform a fun rhythmical chant that is accompanied by an exciting music background .They follow the pictures and notation while they chant to the beat of the background music. On the bottom of the page, the next measure (the next page) is shown. Students begin to understand that there is a "flow" in music. They feel accomplishment as they learn to read the rhythm as a complete piece.
This video is especially helpful to slow learners and ELL learners because of the pictures associated with the words in the rhythm.
The teacher models how to perform the rhythms on the first showing, then helps the students perform with him/her on the second and subsequent showings. Eventually, non-pitched instruments could be played along with the video
In this video the following notes and rests are used: half note, dotted half note, quarter note, 2 eighth note groupings, 4 sixteenth note groupings, quarter rests, eighth/two sixteenth groupings, and two sixteenth/eighth groupings.
This video in in 3/4 meter.
