How To Play
The goal of Christmas Roll Count, and Cover is to cover all the squares or pictures on the game board.
The simplest roll and cover game, students will need one regular die, a game board (page 4, color; page 5, b/w) , and manipulatives to cover each square, such as pompoms, buttons, or counting bears. To play, a child rolls the die, counts the number and places the appropriate number of manipulative “ornaments” on the game board. Continue until the tree and trunk are completely covered. Play in a group or solo!
Place game boards of your choice (color, partial color, or b/w), a regular die, and one of the die listed above in a center, along with manipulatives, such as pompoms, buttons, or counting bears. To play, children take turns rolling the numbered die and the picture die. The child identifies the number and picture and covers the number of pictures indicated. The first child who covers all the pictures wins!
