Christmas Roll, Say, Keep
An Addition Game and a Subtraction Game
Christmas Number Lines

This is an addition (facts 0 - 9) and a subtraction (facts 1 - 9) game. It can be used in small groups, math stations, guided math group, or math centers. Use the set of addition cards or the set of subtraction cards. You can also use both sets together. You could use just the facts you are working on. It is great for differentiation. I print 3 of each page if I am just using 1 set of cards so that the children see the equations 3 times. I also put each special card in at least 2 times. My kids love these cards.
Special Cards:
Oh My! No toys! Give a card to all girls and boys!
Santa is STUCK! Miss a turn. Bad Luck!
Santa has toys! Take a card from all girls and boys!
Roll twice! Santa says you have been nice!
Place an equal amount of cards in each section. I usually put 6 cards in each section. Mix the special cards in with the addition or subtraction cards. The children take turns rolling a dice to determine which pile they should take the card from. They will give the answer of the equation and keep it. Christmas number lines are provided for those that need help solving the equations. If they can’t solve the problem, they leave the card in the pile. If they draw a special card, they do as it says. The child with the most cards after all the cards are taken is the winner.
