Small quiz boards are great hands-on projects that that have a STEM and STEAM component. Instructions to build the quiz board are clearly described and includes tips on preparing and connecting the light bulbs: one strand of colored LED holiday lights provides more than enough lights for large classes. While students can create their own layout, this resource provides three Christmas and one Menorah template.
The activity requires a small wire stripper. Even if you have no experience stripping wires, it’s simple to do and with appropriate safety precautions many children can strip the wires themselves to expose the copper wire. Otherwise, the quiz boards are made out of inexpensive materials such as aluminum foil and brass fasteners.
