This game is a great activity that touches on many different areas in math. It could be used as partner practice or as a math center.
In the game the students play the role of cashier or customer. The customer gets to choose four items from the "toy store" to buy. The cashier then adds up the four two-digit numbers to find a total. The customer then writes a check to pay for the items. By writing a check the customer will have to write the total in both standard and written form.
Students will love this game and teachers will love an easy prep activity.
