Since students love holiday stockings filled with goodies, use this fun activity to review skills that you’ve already taught! Provide each student with two pieces of construction paper. Instruct each student to draw a stocking on one sheet so that the top of the stocking is large enough to hold a small index card. After cutting out their stocking, have each student trace it on the second sheet of paper and cut out the copy. Have the student glue the two cutouts together, leaving the top of the stocking open. They can personalize and decorate the stocking. (I print out a copy of a stocking template for my students to use, but you can do what you would like).
Next, print out as many copies as you need of the question documents. I print each on a different color, so it is easier for me to know which question it is.
Students have to start with question one. They must show all of their work on the back of their paper, and then check their answer with you before moving on to the next question. If they get it right they put it their stocking. You can make it a race, or you can have the students make goals as to how many they think they will get through. You can give them prizes at the end depending on how many they get, or trade out their cards for candy.
