Have you ever wondered why certain decorations are used at Christmas? This package will explain the meaning of many of the common decorations that we see every Christmas while children will build their vocabulary, and practice their reading and writing skills.
The activities in this package are easily differentiated to meet the ability of all students as they enjoy making connections to the Christmas Symbols they use.
Word Page for every symbol discussed has a word practice, a picture, the Christmas meaning, and a fix-it sentence. (There are 2 levels for each word page; 1 is capital letter and punctuation, 1 has a mixed up sentence.)
Picture cards with a Biblical reference can be used to sequence and retell the Christmas Story.
Mini Book: 8 pages that explain the symbols and can be illustrated as the story is read. Also included are lined pages to be used as a guided writing lesson or have student retell their understanding of the meaning of each symbol. There are also 3 variations for the cover.
Craftivitiy: The Jesus Tree Poster Inspired by Annetta E. Dellinger's book, The Jesus Tree. Decorate a Christmas tree using the symbols of Christmas. Then glue the labels to match the meaning to the ornaments. There is one blank ornament to allow for personal tradition in be included on the poster. What could be easier!!
You can also combine the poster by attaching it behind the 1/2 page booklet. It is pretty awesome seeing the decorated tree above the story pages.
Note: Do not purchase if you have purchased the Christmas Tree and other symbols. This package is a remake and has many similar activities. Contact me and I will send you this remake.
