Reindeer Love Cupcakes: Distributive Property

Help each reindeer find the cupcake he wants to eat by matching up each distributive property equation WITH THE CORRECT REINDEER! There are 32 matches included that help students break down difficult multiplication equations into smaller pieces using the distributive property. Aligns with 3.OA.5.

Christmas Village: Multi-Step Word Problems

Each time you answer a question correctly, you choose a circle card randomly. The circle card tells you whether to go forward or backwards on the game board! It’s Christmas and emoji-themed which is sure to keep students engaged while learning at the same time. Students practice multi-step word problems that include addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. The first person to make it from start to finish wins the game! Aligns with 3.OA.8.

QR Codes: Multiply by Tens

Three messages included! Two of the games include multiplying by tens word problems. The third game includes basic multiply by ten equations. Students solve the equation on each card to figure out the answer. Then, they scan the QR code on the card to figure out the "secret letter". They put the "secret letter" on the answer on the mystery phrase page. When all cards are solved, it will spell out a Christmas themed mystery phrase! There are 3 games included to give variety. Aligns with 3.NBT.3.

Ugly Sweater Contest: Multiplication Facts

Each time you answer a multiplication fact card correctly, you pull an ”ugly sweater” kid from the middle. If the kid belongs to your game board, you add it to your board. If not, you put the kid back in the middle and it’s the next person’s turn. The first person to collect all of their ugly sweaters wins! Answer key included. Aligns with 3.OA.7.

Line Them Up: Round to Nearest Ten

Students play in teams to line up numbers that are rounded to the nearest ten within 1000 as quickly as possible to win the game. Both teams are given a "start" card that has a number to round on it. Once students figure out the answer, they line that card up under the "start card". Students keep lining up the cards until they reach the finish! Each team has the same questions, but the questions have been given in a different order to avoid peeking eyes from other teams. Aligns with 3.NBT.1.

Lost Elf Pets: Missing Factors

Oh no! each elf lost 4 pets—2 cats and 2 dogs! Can you help each dog and cat find their way to their owner? Each of the elves is holding a factor from 1-12. Students have to sort the cats and dogs according to which factor they need (which elf they belong to). There are 48 multiplication and division missing factor equation cards for students to sort. Aligns with 3.OA.4 and 3.OA.6.

Match each equation with the corresponding answer by matching up each pair of photos! There are 20 holiday photos and 20 equation cards. When students solve each card, they can match up the equation with the answer. Aligns with 3.NBT.2.

Spruce Up the Tree: Multiplication and Division Word Problems

This game is used to practice solving multiplication and division word problem equations during the Christmas and winter holiday season. I use this game a lot during December or January of each year. Students practice with multiplication and division word problems while playing a game at the same time! This game is flexible and students should be able to use whatever method you prefer them to use to solve each problem when playing this game.

It's a 2-4 person game where students try to be the first person to decorate or "spruce up" their tree with ten ornaments! Each time a student answers a game card question, they get to take an ornament from the middle to put on their tree. There are also chance cards in the deck that may help a student or put them back a few paces during the game! My students LOVE this game at Christmas time each year and enjoy picking out which decorations they will put on their tree!

The best part is--the students have no idea how much they are learning! This game is a great practice or review game to see who understands a concept you are teaching and who is still struggling with the material. This game comes with 48 questions on game cards, 24 chance cards, and an answer key!

Snow Globe: Fact Families

This math game is used to help students practice identifying equations that include multiplication and division fact families during the winter season. Students practice identifying the correct fact family, the equation that does not match a fact family, a missing factor in a fact family, and fill in fact family triangles while playing a game at the same time!

It’s a 2-4 person game where students try to be the first person to build and decorate their snow globe by answering math questions correctly. Each time a student answers a game card question, they get to take a snow globe part or decoration from the middle to put on their picture. There are also chance cards in the deck that may help a student or put them back a few paces during the game! My students LOVE this game in the winter time each year and enjoy picking out which decorations they want on their snow globe. It comes with 48 questions on game cards, 24 chance cards, and an answer key. Aligns with 3.OA.4 and 3.OA.6.

This game is used to practice identifying different 2D geometric shapes and classify shapes based on their attributes in math during the Christmas season. Students practice identifying polygons, geometry terms, triangles, squares, rectangles, rhombuses, trapezoids, diamonds, parallelograms, pentagons, hexagons, and octagons in geometry. This game is flexible and students should be able to use whatever method you prefer them to use to solve when playing this game.

It's a 2-4 person game where students try to be the first person to decorate their gingerbread house with ten decorations. Each time a student answers a game card question, they get to take a decoration from the middle to put on their gingerbread house. There are also chance cards in the deck that may help a student or put them back a few paces during the game! My students LOVE this game at Christmas time each year and enjoy picking out which decorations they will put on their gingerbread house! It comes with 48 questions on game cards, 24 chance cards, and an answer key. Aligns with 3.G.1.
