This pack includes a student choice board with files and directions for accompanying station activities. All activities print PERFECTLY in black and white or color!
These stations are designed to be used for one week where students select one station per day or could also be used for two weeks in which all stations will be completed by the end of the two week period.
The open nature of the activities allows for differientiated levels to be met with your students while working on the same concept.
Station 1: Book: All I Want for Christmas is...: Students draw a picture on each page and label something they want for Christmas. Challenge: Students will write sentences about the pictures they draw.
Station 2: Christmas Matching: Students match the Christmas pictures to the matching words. Teacher Note: Teachers may laminate and make a few games for students to share or each student could have their own game set.
Station 3: Word Search: Students will illustrate the pictures and find them in the word search, then write a sentence.
Station 4: Dear Santa: Students will write a letter to Santa. Students will words or phrases and illustrate. Challenge: Students will write a detailed letter to Santa.
Station 5: “Santa Goes Home”. Students will roll a die, move a counter, and read sight words to help Santa get home. The first one to the gingerbread house wins!
Station 6: Stamp and Write: Students will stamp the beginning sounds then write the Christmas themed words.
Station 7 Holiday Sort: Have students sort the pictures onto the correct side Christmas or Not Christmas. Have students label their pictures after they sort.
Station 8: Back to Back Game: Students sit back to back with a partner. They draw a card from the bag. They give clues to their partner to help them guess the Christmas word on the card. Teacher may laminate and cut apart several copies of this game for students to share or each student could have their own set of words/pictures to take home.
Station 9: Ornament Craftivity: Teacher can copy the ornament pattern in this pack onto white or Christmas background paper. Then students can cut out the ornament or trace the ornament on construction paper. Students will then tear paper or cut paper to create a Christmas scene on their ornament. Finally, students will cut out the ornament with handwriting lines and write how they celebrate Christmas or why they think Christmas is important.
CHALLENGE: Stations 1 and 4 have additional pages that use the same activity but with HIGHER skill levels needed to complete them.
FREEBIE:ABC Order: Students cut out the letter tiles and glue them onto their ”Santa ABC” board. You can also laminate the tiles and the “Santa ABC” board and reuse from year to year.
